Still going strong!

I am happy to say that I still consistently recording what I am eating. And let me tell you, it really works! I find that I think twice before I munch on something, because I know that it will be written. I sit here, at my computer, sipping a cup of my favorite tea,… Continue

Getting in fighting shape

Well, I am not about to fight anyone, anytime soon, however I am getting into "fighting" shape. Or trying to, anyway. I continue to workout with my trainer, Morgan, (twice a week) plus she has me on a cardio routine 3-4x a week, also. (That's the hard part for me). I love the strength training/conditioning stuff, it's cardio that I find utterly… Continue

How my son is keeping me honest (and why the workout photo)

Well, I hired a personal trainer, to help whip me into "rock star" shape. Why, you ask? Yes, I know. I am a Fitness Expert. I know how to work myself out. However, everyone needs a little motivation and accountability. Not to mention that any great athlete has a coach (or team of coaches) to help them stay in top form. What does any of this have to… Continue

Why handkerchiefs are so cool

My father was visiting, from across the country, the other day and he realized that he had forgotten his handkerchiefs. He asked if their was a mall around where he could buy some. I said, "Of course there is a mall around, but will JC Penney or Macys even sell handkerchiefs? " Guess what! They actually do. What seemed to me an antiquated accessory now seems to be so cool and eco-friendly. I mean, as long as you wash them when you soil them they are really handy and good for the environment, (as… Continue

Stroller Envy

Ok, I have a confession to make. I have stroller envy. Whenever I am out and about I can't help but notice the plethora of strollers on the street. (I currently have 3, each serving a distinct purpose). There is one that I have always wanted (even before my son was born), but I never purchased because it just seems that there is no perfect stroller. Each has its pros and cons. In this case, the one that I love it just too heavy for running errands and taking in and out of the car.… Continue

Kiva-Loans That Change Lives

Chances are that you have probably already heard of Kiva. Since its inception in 2005, Kiva (which promotes giving to help an entrepreneur in another country) has received tremendous press. I first heard Kiva a couple of years ago. I was blown away by this concept of global giving (and the ease with which it can be done).… Continue

Proud Mommy

I am so glad that this site was born. I am a Proud Mommy of a 6 month old (who is fighting his morning nap, as I type). I can relate to the moms who inspired Meena and Gita to create The Mommy Tree. Although my son is only 6 months old, I have already begun researching pre-schools and actually have him on 2 waiting lists. (It's crazy, here in Los Angeles). I am looking forward to sharing ideas and making friends on The Mommy Tree. It should be fun! Continue
