Gita's Page

Gita Saini is the Co-Founder of The Mommy Tree, as well as Desi Mamma, an Indian heritage website. She gave up her career as an executive with Accenture to join the world of stay at home moms. At Accenture, she also took part in a committee to work on issues specifically facing working women, especially work/life/balance issues.

Having been blessed with two children, Gita shares her parenting experiences and lighthearted moments in her blog! Besides her parenting experiences, Gita has traveled A LOT, with and without her kids, and has a lot to share in that regard.

Gita is a big supporter of parental involvement in the educational process of our children. She believes that it is so important for parents to work as a team with their children and teachers. Gita shares her love for education in her blog posts.

Gita was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, where she received her engineering degree. She has been living in the United States for almost 15 years. Her Canadian identity has taught her to be very eco-conscious. In Canada, she lived through a great evolution in recycling programs, and based on that, knows that we can do better here in the United States. She shares her tips and experiences in her blog.

In addition to The Mommy Tree, Gita works part time for her husband's medical practice. When she left her career with Accenture, she spent countless hours overhauling the outdated medical practice that her husband had taken over. Gita has experienced the Canadian medical system, the American PPO system and the American HMO system
first hand as a patient. From a medical practice management point of view, she has had many conversations with insurance companies, and IPAs (one going through bankruptcy at the time), in addition to her medical practice management experiences. Gita has very strong opinions on the state of the healthcare system in the United
States.
